FAQs

Is it safe to whiten teeth?

Our products have been thoroughly tested and proven to be 100% safe.  They are FDA approved and determined to be safe by the ADA.

How many shades lighter?

Everyones’ anatomy is unique and responds differently to treatments. The same applies to teeth whitening. We have achieved up to 16 shades whiter with a couple treatments, however the average is about 4-6 shades whiter with the first treatment.  Just like dying your hair it may take a couple treatments to get to your desired shade.

When is teeth whitening NOT recommended?

Whitening is not recommended while pregnant per ADA guidelines (breast feeding is safe), and children under the age of 14.   If you have teeth pain because of a large cavity/abcess please see your dentist prior to whitening your teeth.   We recommended that you see your dentist every 6 months.

Will teeth whitening whiten crowns, bridges or veneers?

Cosmetic Teeth Whitening works better on your natural teeth.  Porcelain will not get whiter with treatment.

How long do teeth whitening results last?

On average you can expect to have whiter teeth for up to 3-6 months depending on lifestyle. Good oral hygiene can also assist in prolonging results. This treatment can also be repeated more regularly. Our home whitening kit can also be used to maintain and improve your teeth color in the comfort of your own home.

Does whitening your teeth hurt?

Our treatment is 100% safe and has no side effects. Almost all our customers experience ZERO sensitivity. Some may experience some superficial blanching which is temporary and goes away with our aloe vera mouthwash.

What can stain my teeth?

Food and drinks can greatly influence the color of your teeth. There are foods and beverages that make your teeth darker.  The worst offenders being red wine, cigarettes, soft drinks, citrus, coffee & tea, curries, soy sauce and berries. (It is recommended to avoid the above staining agents for the first 3 hours after treatment to maximize whitening results).

Which teeth shades are easier to whiten?

In general if your teeth are yellow, it will be easier to make them more white. Gray teeth are much harder to whiten due to the stain being more intrinsic. Your teeth can only be whitened to their genetic natural whiteness.

Is the LED light safe? Can it cause any harm?

Our LED light cosmetic teeth whitening is 100% safe and produces better and faster results compared to other whitening methods.  Our products have been tested and have shown to cause no harm to enamel or gums. Brite Bar™  recommends that if a client is experiencing pain or discomfort during thewhitening process, they should discontinue the treatment immediately and consult their dentist as soon as possible as this may indicate an undiscovered or unknown problem that might be occurring in their mouths. In rare occasions with improper biting and pushing saliva forward to the front of the mouth during treatment can cause a temporary irritation. *Do not use aquaphor or other SPF lip balms during treatment as this can cause a reaction with sunlight / LED light which can cause temporary swelling of the lips.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

Same day appointments are always welcome, but due to high traffic we recommend you make your appointment in advance.  Please check YELP for up to date availability.
